Description:	The NIH Director's Wednesday Afternoon Lecture Series Telomerase has been shown to be important for the continued proliferation of eukaryotic cells. How telomerase accomplishes this function depends not only on telomere elongation but also on other properties of telomerase and telomeres that are under active investigation. The talk will outline recent findings about the roles of telomerase in cell proliferation and on the responses of cells to perturbing telomeres and telomerase.
